Tea is a labour of love
As fourth generation tea planters, our teas are handcrafted with care and perfected over a century. They are meant to be savoured slowly. Right from celebrating the rains to the age-old ritual of drinking a fresh cup every morning, tea is deeply ingrained in our lives, our culture.
We believe something that forms such an integral part of every moment of our lives, deserves to be prepared and nurtured with care.
The Palchoudhuri family has been consciously growing tea since the 1880s. In the early 20th century the estate was under Imperial Tea Company Limited, managed by Jardine Henderson. In 1959 it was sold to the Palchoudhuris by the then tea brokers Cresswel Tea Brokers Pvt. Ltd. Washabarie has been family owned since then. The sustainable and ethical practices have been mastered over generations to produce the finest teas.
We grow and make teas that we’d love to drink.
